Chisago County Sheriff's Deputy Saves a Young Man's Life

When men and women sign up to be police officers, they accept the notion they are putting their lives on the line. Considering that, they are all heroes, whether their heroics make the papers or not. One hero, Ryan Edmonds, a Chisago County Sheriff’s Deputy, played a huge part in saving a young man’s life in mid February. Edmonds responded to a call of collapsed man receiving CPR at the Nessel Township. After arriving at the scene, Edmonds used his car’s AED (automatic external defibrillator) to shock the young man twice in an effort to awaken his sleeping heart. Edmonds and his AED were successful in restoring a pulse, which led to the young man being taken to Cambridge Hospital in an ambulance.   The young man who was saved is Andy Ellsworth. Nellie Gustafson Statue to Debut This Spring

The spring of 2013 will bring not only melted snow, growing plants, and warmer weather, but also the reveal of an anticipated sculpture in front of the Chisago Lakes Library. The sculpture is being formed by Ian Dudley, a local sculptor who has works at the Bell Museum in Minneapolis and other spots around the United States. The Wildlife Management Area in Chisago County Grows Even Bigger

The Wildlife Management Area in Chisago County, just outside of North Branch, is expanding, adding 108 acres to the existing 223 acres. This Wildlife Management Area was established in honor of the late Janet Johnson, who died in 1999 of a malignant brain tumor at the young age of 59. This area was set up in her honor due to her being such an environment advocate. One thing almost any shopper loves to hear is ‘outlet mall.’ The North Branch Outlets are packed full of outlet stores for Nike, Old Navy, GAP, Claire’s, Maurice’s, Levi’s, Zales Diamonds, Bath & Body Works, Furniture Mart, Toys R’ Us, and even more. Shopping at this consumer hub could knock out all or a significant amount of a Christmas list, all the while saving money over regular store prices.
